Chillin' at the beach

We had a family picnic at the beach the other day. When we were done, Aidan played in the sand. Good times!

I never had a picnic at the beach in April when I lived in Wisconsin...

Oh yeah, we saw dolphins too!

Dad's Back!!

Hey everyone, it's me, Aidan! I know it has been a while since I wrote last, but my Dad got home a couple weeks ago from that class he was at in Texas and I've just been very busy hanging out with him and having fun. He's not as cool as Mom; he doesn't really feed me much and when I get upset he doesn't always know what to do. But he's a pretty cool dude all the same. Anyway, I thought I would post some pictures so you could see what I've been up to.

Here we are visiting with my favorite dog in the world, Bailey. She was really happy to see Dad too. They play around a lot.

Mom got me some super sweet crayons that I can use to draw on my table.

I met a couple of Dad's cousins, J.B. and Marilyn and they gave me a gift of some awesome paper!! There was something beneath it, but I didn't care about it. I mean, look at that paper! Dad says that's all I'll be getting for Christmas this year because I like it sooo much.

Here I am taking my Dad's ID so I can go buy some beer...Do you think I could pass for 27?

This is the first birthday party I went to. Had a blast.

Balloons Rock!

This is me and the birthday boy. His face doesn't always look like that.

CAKE!!!!!!

I finally got some help doing the yardwork around here*

Grilling is fun!

So that's all I have for you now. We've had a lot of fun so far, and we're going to be having more visitors soon. I can't wait! Hope you are all doing well, talk to you later!

*Dad wasn't running the weed wacker in this picture; my eyes weren't in jeopardy of getting hit by debris. He's smarter than that!!!

5k Zoo Run

My posse of 5k running girlfriends and I did a run this past weekend for our local zoo out on Navarre Beach. I ran with Aidan in the jogging stroller and then we did a 1 mile fun run after the 5k with the kids, I "jogged" with Aidan wearing the baby carrier. We got our picture taken for the local newspaper and you can see more pictures of us at the race here...

http://www.shutterfly.com/progal/album.jsp?aid=768a5498cf431293a59f

We are on pages 5, 10, 15, 16, and 19 of the nearly 400 pictures that were taken.
While we were finishing the 1 mile fun run it started thundering and lightning was flashing, we finished and made it back to the car. As I was closing my door it started downpouring! It wasn't easy to see the road as we were driving off the island, we were so lucky! Enjoy the new pics!

Hey it was a run for the zoo, of course they were going to bring out some animals, excuse me...reptiles!

Aidan's running buddies

We're ready to go!

On a side note, Aidan is working on sitting up, he's hoping to surprise his daddy with his newly learned skill, he'll be here this Saturday!!

Spring has sprung

Spring is here and we've been spending even more time outside. Scott will be home in 2 1/2 weeks and Aidan will be 5 months next week.

Aidan's # 1 fan, Maddy. She loves him and asks to hold him every time I go over to her house.

Aidan loves it when I read to him, he enjoys a good book even more when he gets a chance to "eat" it.

My mom and dad came down for a visit. They were an immense help in getting our yard cleaned up. I can't do much with the yard on my own since Aidan is so little and it needed a good old spring cleaning. I was so happy to see them and my brother Kevin and not just because I got some work out of them, I miss them so much and we had a great time. Scott and I decided we're going to come up for a visit to Wisconsin in August for my mom's big 50th birthday party.

We went to the beach three times while they were here, it was Kevin's first time in the ocean, dad was just waiting for him to mention how salty the water was :)

Waking up from a nap

Aidan wanted to try out boogie boarding

It's officially swimsuit season here, time to get tanning!

Walking on the beach

Aidan got a visit from the Easter bunny

Easter Sunday

My mom and dad wore him out but he had fun and now he's wondering where his grandma and grandpa went, and he wants to know where that funny guy Uncle Kevin is that he was laughing at all week :)

Scott's Wichita Falls Adventures

Hey All, I just wanted to take a few minutes to update everyone on my time here in Texas. Less than 5 weeks to go and I'm getting psyched. Only a couple more tests are all that remains until I'm officially a fully qualified maintenance officer.

Situations have come up that have tested me in several ways (other than academic) and I've done my best to handle them appropriately. I have to give a shout out to my former coworkers that I've talked to while I've been here to get guidance/perspective on things.

The bulk of my experiences here have been positive though, I wanted to throw up a few pictures of a couple fun things I've done. This is how I've spent my Texas vacation:

Habitat for Humanity - Reclaiming stuff from old base housing that will be sold at second hand auctions with proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity. I took out a few door frames and a few toilets...

...This was the whole crew.

Sitting at stream in a canyon at the Wichita Mountains in Oklahoma.

Climbing up the canyon wall.

Doing some spelunking.

Yeah, we're thinking about how much we love Wichita Falls...
