Almost 3 months old!

Aidan is no longer "light as a feather" like he was when he was born. My arms are starting to get sore from holding this small turkey. I had to take him into the doctor this week for this nasty cough he suddenly sprung on me and long story short, he's 11 lbs. 12 oz. now, oh and he's just one big snotty mess. It amazes me how well he can still beathe through his nose after all the snot I've sucked out of him so far, aren't babies amazing?! :) Aidan loves to try and grab things within his reach and he loves looking at himself in the mirror, he's also doing pretty well holding his head and chest up. I'm waiting for the day when I find him flipped over on the opposite side I left him. I'm hanging out with my neighbor friends a lot and Aidan gets to watch the bigger kids at the same time, they like to entertain him and he enjoys it, though he gets this look on his face sometimes that says..."These kids are nuts!" I'm planning on doing a 5k walk with my friends in a couple weeks, Aidan in tow, he'll probably sleep through the whole thing. Enjoy the pictures below!

Mom, I thought Florida was suppose to be warm!? Why am I wearing mittens and a winter hat?! (It was 45 degrees when we went for a walk that day and below freezing the night before!)

Dealing with Lieutenants

Ok, I'll admit I'm not far off from being an Lt myself. At 4.5 years of active duty time I'm just a baby Captain. However those 4.5 years really make a difference. I'm in a class here at Sheppard AFB with 14 2nd Lieutenants fresh out of college. That makes me the old man in the group - and I really feel like it at times. It blows me away how silly these kids are.

I won't go into detail here what exactly I've been exposed to in the two weeks I've been here at Sheppard - if you want more detail you can ask me about it when we visit next time. However, suffice it to say that I get to play "babysitter" here in ways I never expected.

Now, in their defense, not all of them are silly rambunctious kids - just the majority of them are! A few are quite mature and have helped out a great deal. But as the old saying goes, "It only takes a few bad apples..."

So, in honor of my classmates I thought I would post a video clip on here:

GO PACK GO!

Hey all, this is Scott weighing in from Texas. I saw the wonderful update that Heather made and had to add a couple notes.

First, we all know that Aidan will be a Packers fan.

Second, we all know what will happen to Aidan if he tries to deny his heritage.

Football

As many of you know Scott is a Green Bay Packer fan and I am a Chicago Bears fan, also one of the oldest rivalry's in the NFL. I love cheering for the Bears just to get on his nerves sometimes but I have to admit with how well the Packers are doing this year I hope they get to the Superbowl. Scott is very superstitious when it comes to his Packers and he made sure to let me know when the game was on so I could watch it with Aidan. Aidan and I watched the last quarter :) (Hey it was beautiful outside and we had to enjoy it with a walk first!) The following pictures below speak for themselves but I had to have some fun with the captions....

"Mom, I love you but I think I might be a Packers fan."

Aidan celebrating after the Packers win and go on the the NFC Championship game. "Go Pack Go! Touchdown Packers!"

This is Aidan after I told him that the Packers lost to the Bears TWICE this season.

"Mom, just between you and me I think I'm a Bears fan too, but don't tell dad"

My Birthday and other misc. fun

You're probably thinking "Oh no, Heather has taken over, I want Scott back!" Well I can blog just as well as Scott can :) I decided this entry needed a lot of pictures because who doesn't love pictures of a cute baby? Besides, I'm sure my parents and in-laws are dying for more! My Birthday was this past Sunday, the day after Scott left for Texas (boo-hoo) but my neighbor friends rescued me and we had a great time hanging out.

Happy Birthday to ME!

Birthday kisses from Aidan

My first day as a "single parent"- don't I look tired?

I took this picture for the Grandpas, he was very smiley that day. He's generally smiley everyday, he's a happy baby!

This one just makes me laugh

I was bored the afternoon of this day so Aidan and I just talked a while

This was yesterday, Bailey was lovin' on him because we just finished chasing her around the house but I think she thought he was tasty!

I found Aidan this way this morning. He wiggled out of the blanket completely. You can see the blanket is still wrapped around itself like he was still in it! Houdini baby!

So that's how my first few days have been so far as a "single parent," I think we're doing pretty well! :)

We're Splitting Up

Yup. We made it through the holidays and now it's time for Scott and Heather to split up. Heather will take care of the home, dog, and baby down in Florida. Scott is taking off Saturday to go to Sheppard AFB for 3 months of training.

The blog will be in a state of flux as Heather will be taking over authorship duties. She'll do a great job - she better since Scott will be checking daily for updates!

Not much new is going on over here right now besides...Aidan has his 2 month check-up tomorrow. No new pictures.
